The Spring 2026 issue of ¡Adelante! highlights how, in just five years, Jaguar Athletics has grown into a powerful force—serving as the front porch of the University and transforming campus spirit. Other stories include a look at A&M-San Antonio's evolution as both a destination campus and a commuter-friendly University, helping ensure every student finds a place to belong. Elsewhere, we shine a spotlight on students and alumni who are turning their ideas into successful business ventures, and we showcase the growing number of faculty authors who are helping the University gain recognition as a publishing powerhouse. As part of our commitment to employee development, we will hold four general staff meetings to discuss the upcoming performance review process. The meetings will cover the self-evaluation process, key competencies, and changes to the performance review cycle. Please make plans to attend one of the following scheduled meetings.

Volunteer Shifts:

Fiesta season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than for your department to have the official University Fiesta medal!   

A minimum order of 25 medals is required. The cost of the medal is $2.65 each and you MUST provide your department's account number on the order form. For this reason, it is better if a representative or department head makes the order on behalf of the department. 

 It is recommended that you make divisional orders or be part of a divisional order if your department number is small.

A&M-San Antonio invites you to join our Accessibility Series. Learn how to make your content more accessible and inclusive through short, hands-on sessions. Bring your laptop and get practical experience with document structure, images and alt text, hyperlinks, and accessible writing. Beginner sessions offer focused instruction, while intermediate sessions provide additional support and guidance.

Join the Student Counseling Center for an educational presentation by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. With an emphasis on early intervention, support, and stigma reduction, this presentation equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to take proactive measures on campus and beyond to help prevent suicide.

The IRB Office is hosting monthly office hours on the last Wednesday of each month throughout the school year to support researchers and provide guidance on the CAYUSE protocol management system.

A self-described science fiction nerd, Dr. Amy Lewis has landed what she calls a dream project rooted in one of her favorite franchises, “Star Trek.” Lewis, a professor of management, is under contract with two co-authors to write a book titled, “To Boldly Go: Leadership Visions from the Future,” scheduled for publication in summer 2027. The book is part of Emerald Publishing’s series that examines leadership practices through the lens of popular culture.
