Georgia Tech welcomed an inaugural cohort of eight Georgia Tech Stamps Fellows at a campus reception on August 27, 2025. As the Institute’s premier merit-based doctoral fellowship, the program supports outstanding graduate students across diverse disciplines through funding, professional development, and mentorship opportunities.

| Career Opportunities: Impactful Mentorship Workshop Series: Setting Expectations
|
The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Education is hosting a new workshop series for graduate students who want to enhance their communication skills and develop strong mentoring relationships. Students who attend at least five workshops in the series and complete a brief reflection assignment and capstone project will earn a Certificate of Completion. The first session, Impactful Mentoring: Setting Expectations, will take place on Wednesday, September 18 (in person) and again on Wednesday, September 25 (virtual via Zoom). Registration is required.

Applications are now open for the Flare Scholar Program, a professional development opportunity for graduate students passionate about entrepreneurship, venture capital, and transforming healthcare through technology. Since 2016, more than 440 rising founders, operators, and innovators have joined this growing community to gain firsthand knowledge of the healthcare technology industry. Applications for the Class of 2026 are open through October 19, with an upcoming virtual info session on Wednesday, October 1 (3–4 p.m. ET).

MathWorks has launched applications for the Engineering Development Group (EDG) internship and full-time program for the 2026 hiring season. Students in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering who are graduating in 2026, 2027, or 2028 are encouraged to apply now through the [MathWorks Careers Page].As part of their fall events, MathWorks will host “Leveraging your Engineering Degree at MathWorksPanel (virtual) " today, Wed, Sept 17, from 4 – 5 pm, where students can hear directly from EDG engineers about their full-time and internship experiences and ask questions about the role. The Hertz Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 Hertz Fellowship. The Hertz Fellowship provides financial and lifelong professional support for the nation’s most promising graduate students in science and technology. Hertz Fellows receive up to five years of funding. In addition, fellows take part in mentoring, symposia, and workshops with an influential community of more than 1,200 peers, creating lifelong connections that will accelerate your career. Are you a PhD student in the College of Computing, College of Engineering, or College of Sciences who is passionate about technology innovation? Join the TI:GER Program (Technology Innovation: Generating Economic Results). TI:GER is a two-term educational program that can be taken as a PhD minor. Students can bring their own entrepreneurial ideas and work in teams with MBA students from the Scheller College of Business to turn ideas into impactful technology innovations. Applications are due Oct.1, 2025.

Wellness Opportunities: Fall Flu Shot Clinics
|
Fall begins in one week, which means leaves are changing and temperatures will be cooling soon. It also means an increased risk of spreading common viruses like the flu. Make sure you're doing your part in protecting the hive at Georgia Tech - get your flu shot. Getting vaccinated can keep you from getting the flu and reduce the severity of illness. Stamps Health Services is hosting free flu clinics on Oct. 1, 9, 13, 21, and 29, from 3:00 - 7:00 pm., for students who paid their student health fee.

Free Depression Screenings
|
The Center for Mental Health Care and Resources is observing National Depression Awareness Month in October by having a Depression Screening Day on Oct. 9. Students who are interested in getting a free screening can come to the Rafael Bras Meeting Room on the third floor of the John Lewis Student Center from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Speak with a mental health professional about symptoms, coping skills, and campus mental health resources while getting a quick checkup.

Join Graduate Student Programming within Student and Campus Event Centers this fall for a Murder Mystery event series! All events are free for grad students, but space is limited. We're kicking off with a Murder Mystery Movie Night on Sept 18 at 7:00 pm at the Ehmer Theater in the John Lewis Student Center. Watch Haunted Mansion (2023) and get free popcorn and candy. the next murder mystery series movie night will be on Oct 8.

Compete in the Atlanta Innovation Cup
|
Calling all graduate innovators! The Atlanta Innovation Cup is a one-week challenge (Oct. 6–15) where interdisciplinary student teams design bold solutions to elevate Atlanta during the 2026 World Cup. Themes include smart city navigation, supporting local businesses, creating youth and family-friendly experiences, and enhancing fan-to-fan connections. The competition wraps with a live showcase on Oct. 16. Prizes are on the line, along with valuable skills, new collaborators, and serious bragging rights. Applications are open through Sept. 17.
