A&S Site Manager Newsletter |
Greetings site managers,
The excitement around graduation is always palpable. And, this year, I sense even more excitement than usual. In addition to the usual commencement festivities, there's another exciting event on the horizon that I suspect is contributing to the celebratory atmosphere. That's right -- next week, all A&S websites will be "graduating" to the new WashU visual brand. Read on for details and, as always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions about these newsletter topics!
Best,

Website Brand Updates are Scheduled for Next Thursday, 4/30 |
The A&S Web Team will soon publish some visual updates across all A&S websites. Here are the changes you can expect to see on your website soon:
|
To get a sense of what your updated website will look like, click around main ArtSci -- it has already been updated with these visual stylings.
|
Purpose: Alignment with the New WashU Brand |
By refreshing your site's appearance, the objective is to align it with the look and feel of the new WashU brand -- and, ultimately, to create a more consistent, recognizable experience across all WashU websites.
|
1. Content Freeze: Thursday, 4/30, 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM |
The A&S Web Team will need to institute a brief content freeze while they publish the brand updates. From 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM in the morning on Thursday, 4/30, please refrain from logging into your website.
|
2. Otherwise, no action is required and there will be no changes to your current workflow! |
This update is not a site migration. Your site will remain on its current platform and your content, structure, and workflows will stay the same. This update focuses exclusively on your website's visual branding and URL structure.
If you have any questions or would like to talk through what this means for your site, please don’t hesitate to reach out to artsci-webteam@wustl.edu.

Reminder: "Refresh Feeds" Tool |
Last month, we talked about a few new tools you have at your disposal for managing Shared Content. Over the past couple of weeks, I've seen a lot of minor issues that were quickly solved by the "Refresh Feeds" tool. So, as a quick refresh-er:
|
-
Where is this tool located? In the "Shared Content" tab of your Drupal dashboard.
- What does it do? Clicking this button updates your Shared Content feed. When used, it updates the list of shared content available for you to import, pulling in any new/updated shared content that wasn't previously in your feed. Expect this process to take approximately 3-5 minutes.
-
When might you use it? The Shared Content feed automatically updates to show new and updated shared content at various times throughout the day. But if you're looking to import a recently published webpage and you can't locate it in your feed, you can run "Refresh Feeds" to make it appear.
