News That Rocks

March was Mega! Our new Rock 101 class is going great, we celebrated Women's History Month, and Summer is just around the corner! Read all about it in this month's newsletter!

New Rock 101 Session!

We're opening up another session of Rock 101 Tuesdays from 5:15 to 6:45. Rock 101 is perfect for the budding musician who is just getting started on their chosen instrument to get to that next level. Students meet once a week in a fun, engaging band setting that is a game changer for their skill development. Come check out a session to see if it's a right fit for your kiddo!

March Was International Women's Month

We're happy to celebrate women in rock music this and every month at School of Rock! Fun fact: for the first time in history, every artist nominated for this year's Grammy for Best Rock Performance was female! Further proving what we already knew: Girls Rock!
Spring 2021 Show Season is Going Strong!
Our Spring Season is well underway and these groups are sounding great! We're looking forward to warmer weather and outdoor shows for our Spring Performances in June, so stay tuned for venue announcements and times!

Student Spotlight

Name: Sally B.
Age: 18
Instrument: Bass
Top 3 Bands:
1) The Strokes
2) Nirvana
3) Green Day
What's your favorite thing about School of Rock? That I can learn whatever I want in every lesson. The teachers are super supportive of it. Learning what you want is what makes music fun.
If you could sit down with any famous musician, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Santana, for sure. I love the way that he used almost every single instrument you could think of to make his first album. I feel like I'd learn a lot from him.
What advice do you have for new students?
Don't be nervous! It might feel really nerve wracking to play music with other people you don't know but everyone here is so supportive. We're all here to get better after all.

Summer Camps Are Enrolling!

We're already planning a summer of fun and music!  Our regular programs run year around, but you can also get more music with a week long camp experience.  Ages 7 thru high school.

Safety Is Our Top Priority

Creating a COVID-19 safe environment has been and remains our #1 priority for students and staff when they are in the building.  We know that many of our students just want to come in person and we are doing all the safety protocols to ensure we are providing a safe environment to rock.
  • We require masks while in the building
  • All persons entering the school are given a symptom and temperature check
  • All persons entering the school immediately wash their hands and hand sanitizer is used frequently
  • We keep the number of people in our building at any given time to levels lower than required
  • We maintain social distancing at all times
  • We have barriers between vocalists and the band in our groups and a barrier is in all lessons
  • We disinfect all high touch surfaces with hospital grade disinfectant using a special misting tool that gets in every crevice, nook and cranny.
In other words, we're serious about safety!  If you think your child might do better in person, give us a call and let's give it a try.  You may also schedule a time to come see it all in person to gauge your comfort level.
