DC area alumni, please join us to gather with fellow alumni and enjoy the spectacular views from the Duke in DC rooftop terrace. Professor Deondra Rose, Director of Polis: Center for Politics, will be on hand to chat about how Sanford is utilizing political research, distinguished practitioners and a dose of fun to foster rich political discourse to help a new generation of leaders find on-ramps to public service. Sanford Development and Alumni Relations invites alumni to honor Assistant Dean of Career Services Donna Dyer PPS'78, who has been guiding students through career decisions since 1997. Join us at RTP’s Boxyard, a shipping container restaurant and entertainment venue. We will meet for drinks and pizza and share Donna stories from the past two decades as we honor her on the occasion of her retirement. Register here

Jennifer Yam PPS'14

As part of the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York, Jen Yam PPS’14 worked to expand opportunities for minority and women owned businesses to win contracts from the city. With two Duke alumni friends, she also saw a need, and helped create the Duke Asian Alumni Alliance. Read her story here. 
Black Alumni Collective conference at Duke 2022
Sanders Adu PPS’94  (center) is co-chair of the Black Alumni Collective board and of the conference held at Duke this spring.

The Black Alumni Collective connects black alumni from colleges and universities across the country to work together through civic engagement, economics and advocacy. Sanders Adu PPS’94 is co-chair of the board and of the conference held at Duke on April 28-May1. Sanford alumni speakers included Natalie Lamarque PPS’98, Paul Brathwaite MPP’92 and Blayne Alexander’08, who holds a PJMAS certificate. 
Alumni Receive Fulbright Awards
Four public policy graduates from the class of 2022 have received Fulbright awards to teach English abroad during the 2022-2023 academic year. They are Sydney Gaviser, Spain, Julia Murphy, Taiwan, Georgia Price, South Korea and Emil Zakarian, Bulgaria.
