TEAM GREEN SPOTLIGHT

Year-round, childhood hunger is a prevalent issue right here Middle Tennessee. Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee works to feed hungry people and solve hunger issues in our community, but they need help. That's where we come in, the volunteers. Help us fight hunger in 2014 by becoming a volunteer with Team Green Adventures for our BackPack Food Sorting event on Saturday, August 23rd at 1pm. This is a family-friendly event for participants ages 6 and up.

The BackPack Program provides easy-to-prepare food for at-risk children on weekends and during school breaks when other resources are not available. The Second Harvest BackPack program serves nearly 7,000 hungry children at more than 100 schools throughout Middle Tennessee. The BackPack Program is an essential Second Harvest volunteer duty that continues throughout the school year, and it is just one of several volunteer events with Second Harvest this year!

Learn the basics of Standup Paddleboarding (SUP), then have fun testing your balance with various beginner-friendly yoga poses with Nashville Paddle Co! It's guaranteed to be a summertime splash! This is a family-friendly event.

Cumberland Island Camping Weekend
October 1-4th
Join Team Green for a 4-day getaway with 2 nights of camping on Cumberland Island with hiking, biking, fishing, bird watching, swiming and some of the best photography in the Southeast! We'll be camping on Cumberland Island, a 17-mile-long National Seashore that requires reservations 6 months in advance! Fortunate for you, we made it easy and got reservations for you! Though it is an island, this is "car camping" style, so bring all your camping creature comforts!
