Romans 3:22-24
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
New International Version (NIV)
“Have you made your peace with God,” someone asked Thoreau.  He answered, “I wasn’t aware that we had quarreled.”  We may not have intended to quarrel with God, but our behavior says we have.  “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
How do we get right with God?  By grace through faith.  Righteousness is a gift of God’s unmerited favor.  We only benefit from gifts when we open them.  God justifies us freely through the redemption of Jesus Christ.  By faith we trust God.
Remember the song Keith Green sang, “There is a Redeemer, Jesus, God’s own Son.  Precious Lamb of God, Messiah, Holy One.”  We receive God’s best gift from the Giver.   The Lord has done great things for us.  No wonder we are filled with joy.
Pray with me:
Father, thank you for grace.  Teach me to trust you more.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
