Volunteer With Us!

As we work to make our campus Zero Waste, we need your help! Our office needs volunteers to encourage and facilitate recycling and composting on campus. Volunteer opportunities now include our Zero Waste Softball Games, happening for the first time this 2023 season!

Earth Month In Review...

We'd like to extend a huge thank you to all of the students, faculty, staff, and community members that help us make April 2023 our best Earth Month yet! From painting the rock, to our annual Free Store Slow Fashion Show, to the Earth Day Festival (a collaborative event between CEB, Vol Dining, and the Office of Sustainability), we had the most fun celebrating with you all! Happy National Bike Month! May is the perfect time of year to cruise to work or school on your bike, scooter, skateboard, or other wheeled device of your choosing. Hair: Sustainable Production at Clarence Brown Theatre

The most recent production at Clarence Brown Theater "Hair" is proud to be sustainably designed and sourced. Set designer DJ Pike, a third-year scenic and projection design graduate candidate at UT, has incorporated recycled materials such as cardboard boxes, fabric, and plastic bottles to create a set that is both visually stunning and eco-friendly.

April Sustainability Champion:

Victoria Diaz

Victoria Diaz is a second-year veterinary student at UTKCVM. Diaz recently organized a third creek cleanup as a service project for the veterinary school, in which she organized over 40 veterinary students, 5 veterinary faculty and staff members as well as several community volunteers to help. At the end of this service project, almost 200 kilograms of trash was removed from the creek.
