Like many of you, our team is closely following the news from Israel, including rapidly increasing threats from Hezbollah in the North. Last week, Federation approved another $815,000 to support the Northern communities as they navigate this new phase of the war, including for the Kinneret Valley Cluster.
A year ago, this cluster of 200,000 residents absorbed 25,000 evacuees from further north. Today, the region is under daily bombardment from Lebanon. With your support and our deployment of a crisis response grant, the Cluster purchased a new shelter to allow them to continue their essential work even while under attack. Within the week, amidst non-stop red alerts to warn of incoming missiles and drones, the crane arrived to install the shelter. Thanks to you, the entire Cluster staff will be able to return to their essential roles, including caring for children of hospital workers, and running emergency hotlines and welfare services for the elderly.
