From the Camp Director,

Like you see in the video, camp is coming! March 15, 2018 is the deadline for the best discount the camp has to offer. I'm so proud of our Board who offer these discounts to help get as many kids to camp as possible. These discounts are made possible because of our great supporting churches & individuals. As long as we continue to get great support from our churches and individuals we can continue to offer discounts. Please, take advantage of signing up for camp before the March 15th deadline. We will be offering a second discount that will run from March 16 until June 3rd which is Celebrate Good Times.

I also wanted to take an opportunity to thank many of you who helped with the Pancake Extravaganza! We raised $2,700 to help many kids go to camp! Thank You!

Chapel Work Day

March 17, 2018

We will begin the day at 8:00 a.m. with Donuts & Coffee and then start getting things done in the Chapel. This work day is very specific for the Chapel.

We are going to try to get these things accomplished:

Painting
Plumbing
Electrical
Cleanup
And more

From the Wilderness Guy,

With the warmer weather starting to make an appearance, I am excited for our summer here at HRCA! Our wilderness side is in need of a few things:

Calling all RVers who have upgraded from tents. We are looking for a few 6-8 person new or slightly used tents. Do you have one in the garage that you would want to donate to the camp?
We are also looking for 15-20 square cast iron pie irons. The ones that are used to make campfire pies. We will be taking them on our camping trips for meals, and for use at the cabins for snack time at night. (Menard's usually has them on sale a few times a year and you can get a good deal on them).

We have another great summer planned for paintball and horse camps! I am going through all of our paintball equipment to get it ready for summer camp. Terry will be over soon to get the horses ready to go for our horse campers. Workday is coming up and there are a few new additions I'm working on for the cabins and a few new activities for our campers to do during free time. Don't wait too long to get signed up for camp! I am looking forward to another great summer!

Ladies Spring Fling

April 19th

Mark your calendars NOW! This is a GREAT evening for Hanging Rock! It's an evening that's filled with worship and an inspiring message from Lisa Morgan, with laughing and a great time of fellowship with ladies who enjoy strengthening their relationship with Christ. But, it's also an evening that the camp is provided for in the area of some much need supplies. Plan now to attend. When you come you have the opportunity to help us stock up on our supplies:

Laundry detergent
Fabric softener sheets
Paper towels
Bleach
Dawn Dishwashing liquid

These items are necessary for summer camp. This helps save on expenses and helps keep the cost down for campers.

Hello, I have some things to help keep you updated on what is going on here at camp. The month of February, we finished up our youth retreats and the kids had a blast playing bazooka tag, climbing the rock wall, getting a little bit messy even, and learning more about Christ through the excellent messages and worship sessions. And the Jr. High Retreat kids got to go to WinterJam this year for an amplified worship experience. Our Pancake Breakfast was a success, thank you for all that supported financially and everyone who volunteered their time. We here at camp are so blessed to have such a strong support system and you are all the reason that camp happens every year.

I would like to reach out to all of the youth ministers in our supporting churches and let you in on a secret meeting that we have each month exclusively for youth ministers. It is actually not that secretive, but I would like to encourage our youth ministers to come and connect with other ministers from our churches. This is a great opportunity to build strong relationships between churches, get some new ideas, and be rejuvenated in the Lord. I have been meeting with them as well and it has been a huge encouragement to me. We do a devotion, talk through some struggles we are having, and uplift one another in counsell and in prayer. The camp also provides lunch and a nice toasty fire, so come and check it out.

New Ladies Opportunity:

Bible Study Weekend - April 27-28, 2018

Molly Day has stepped up to lead an indepth Bible Study for women. This is not going to be your typical retreat. We really want to encourge women in their walk with the Lord to grow deep in their knowledge of God's Word!

Molly, is very passionate about going deeper and wants to give women an opportunity to dive into the Bible like never before!

Molly will be teaching through the book of Daniel. The Book of Daniel is one of the most thrilling books in the Bible, and it is, of course, a book on prophecy. Register and get more information on our website www.hangingrock.org

DRIVEWAY:

The camp driveway is in really bad shape and is in need of some attention: We are looking at removing everything that is there and using a duraberm material to make a nicer driveway. As you know, when you come in for check-in on Sundays and Celebrate Good times we only have enough space for one car to enter and leave at a time. So, we are also wanting to widen the space so we have enough width for two cars. We need your help. One of our supporting churches is giving us $3,000 for this project and if we just go to the Chapel then it will cost $6,000. We know we need to fix this before camp. So we need your help! We need to raise another $3,000 before May to get this done. Can you help us PLEASE! If so, you can donate online and let us know it is for the driveway or you can send a check to the camp and put in the memo, DRIVEWAY. Please HELP!
