Back To School Supply Kits: Convenience & Brand-Named Items

The St. Michael's Parents' Association (SMPA) is excited to announce that families can now purchase K-8 Back to School Supply Kits that will be waiting for children on their desks at Lower School Meet Your Teacher Day and Middle School Orientation! The purchase DEADLINE is JULY 1.
The SMPA is partnering with 1st Day School Supplies and the boxes will contain the exact supplies St M teachers have requested for the 2024-25 school year. 1st Day School Supplies converts your child's Back-to-School Supply List into a customized kit with proven and top-quality name-brand products (think Ticonderoga, Fiskars, Crayola, Elmers, Mead, Papermate) delivered directly to St. Michael's. Parents shop online from the convenience of home or workplace and there are even color options for supplies!
Plus, you will be amazed at how much money you can save compared to shopping at Walmart, Target, and Amazon--- up to 30%.  And a portion of sales also goes back to the St. Michael's Parents' Association.

Yearbooks

Every Dragon should have received a yearbook over the last week and we hope you’re enjoying the photo highlights from this school year!
Each Dragon will also receive a supplement insert at the start of the next school year to add to the yearbook, which will include Spring and end-of-the-year highlights.
Now is your opportunity to get in touch if:
- You did NOT receive your yearbook
- You have ideas/suggestions for the yearbook
- You would like to get involved in creating the 2024-25 yearbook

Medication Pick-Up THIS WEEK

For children/families who have medication in the front offices, please stop by on MONDAY or TUESDAY to pick up these medications.

Classroom Assignments

We have received a significant number of parent requests for next year's classroom placements. Teachers consider many factors when creating the class lists for the following school year. The goal is to create classes that balance student needs and strengths, and it is a complex process.
For this reason, while we appreciate the feedback, we are not able to accommodate parent requests for classroom placement.

6th Grade Field Trip: June 3

On Monday, June 3rd, the 6th grade class will be volunteering with the James River Park System doing a river clean-up at Pony Pasture at 7200 Riverside Drive Richmond. They will have trash grabbers and trash bags, but ask that St M students wear closed-toe shoes and bring water bottles. (We would additionally suggest long pants and long sleeves).

The plan is depart from the Yellow Loop at 9 a.m. and return to school by 11 a.m. If you are driving, you are asked to stay with us during our time serving at the river and make sure you have your driver forms completed on Powerschool. After our service project, ALL students are to be brought back to campus to clean out their lockers and then be in the library until pickup at noon.

7th Grade Families: Field Trip Permission Form Needed

The 7th Graders will be taking a science field trip to the James River on Monday, June 3, from 8:15 -11:45 a.m.
ATTACHED is a Health & Liability Waiver. Every student and adult attending must have their waiver filled out and SIGNED by a parent or guardian PRIOR to the trip. If a student does not have their form filled out and signed, they cannot participate in the trip.

What students should bring:
  • Weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty
  • Closed-toed shoes are REQUIRED -- no flip-flops, sandals, sliders, or crocs!
  • Reusable water bottle (students will be able to refill water on the island)
  • Packed Lunch
