Good morning! It's October, which means it's time for Open Enrollment. A Universitywide E-Learning Day continuity exercise is set for November 3; alumna Meredith Hayden ’18 of Wishbone Kitchen partnered with students from ’55 Exchange to create her own custom ice cream flavor.

The annual insurance open enrollment period is now underway through October 31. During open enrollment, eligible employees can enroll in or make changes to insurance coverage to take effect January 1, 2026.

On Monday, November 3, Clemson University will conduct an E-Learning Day continuity exercise. This exercise will occur at all teaching site locations across the state. On this day, while physical instructional site locations will not close, all face-to-face instruction should be moved to an online modality.

Over the summer, Justin Williams, lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice, conducted an archeological field school in partnership with the United States Forest Service, providing Clemson students with real-world experiences in cultural resource management.

Meredith Hayden ’18 is the visionary chef, founder and recipe developer behind Wishbone Kitchen. Blending a lifelong passion for food with her eye for style, she transformed a private-chef side hustle into a thriving digital brand inspiring home cooks everywhere. On a recent visit back to Clemson, Hayden partnered with students from the University’s on-campus ice cream shop, ’55 Exchange, to create her own custom flavor inspired by her creativity and Clemson spirit.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – and the perfect time to learn if you are at risk. The State Health Plan covers one baseline routine mammogram for primary women members ages 35-39 and one routine mammogram every year for women over 40. PEBA also provides educational resources, including steps that may support cancer prevention.
- The Libraries host two panel discussions October 20-21 during Open Access Week. These discussions will allow researchers to learn more about various aspects of open access publishing and data management.
