Whatever becomes of the lions and lambs, spring is coming. And it couldn’t come faster for the white squirrels, who have been concerned about matching shoes since Labor Day. The temperatures outside are warming up, and so has the event calendar up in Transylvania County. Feeling like a party? A picnic? A film festival? The Brevard Philharmonic brings a packed program of classic American pops music, including beloved works by Leonard Bernstein, Rogers & Hammerstein, Aaron Copland and plenty more at this wonderful matinee performance. 

Get ready to channel your inner superhero at this annual outdoor adventure event featuring an obstacle course, 5K, workshops, food and kids’ games. Organizers promise a wide variety of challenges, both mental and physical, for players 8+, so bring strength and your wits.

Some people like to unwind with a good movie. Others like their films to be amazing, heart-racing and edge-of-seat hugging. If you’re in the latter category, the Banff Film Festival is once again bringing the best of outdoor adventure films to Brevard, so you can climb to highest highs without ever leaving your seat. 

Downtown Brevard is feeling the creative spirit. A not-so-typical Friday night gallery walk, featuring open studios, author meet-and-greets, and lots more will roll over into a Saturday jampacked with art talks, demos, culinary classes, live music and lots more.
