FEATURED LOCATION
Coleman Theatre
Located on Route 66 in the newly film friendly certified City of Miami, the Coleman Theatre is a beacon for visitors from around the world who flock to the historic vaudeville theatre to experience the Spanish Colonial Mission-style exterior and the Louis XV interior. A true marvel of design, the theatre’s interior is ornately decorated with gargoyles, dolphins, cherubs and faces. The Coleman is the original home to the “Mighty Wurlitzer” pipe organ, the only one of its kind built in 1928, which is still used during special film screenings to this day.

First opening on April 18, 1929, the Coleman has never been dark and has a rich history, initially debuting as a vaudeville theatre and later transitioning to a movie theatre and live performance venue. A number of iconic talents have graced the stage throughout the years, including Will Rogers, Tom Mix, Sally Rand, Bing Crosby, Jim Thorpe, the magician Harry Blackstone and Moscelyn Larkin to name a few.

Additional theater highlights include the Coleman Ballroom, a perfect location for weddings, reunions, events and more, as well as the Coleman Celebrity Park and Wall of Fame. The Coleman also hosts the annual Sunny Side Up Film Festival showcasing the best in international, national and local independent films.
