NAACP Offers Community to Black and Brown Students

Known for supporting the advancement of Black and Brown students, the NAACP also offers a sense of community and a place for open discussion. The organization is this week’s focus in the Find Your People series.

Provost Timothy Moerland announced that Curt Scheib will serve as dean of the new College of Creative Arts, Humanities, and Design, and Yaw Asamoah will take on additional responsibilities as interim dean of the IUP Libraries.
In its latest rankings of Military Friendly Schools, Victory Media selected IUP as one of only 162 universities in the nation and one of only six in Pennsylvania to receive its Gold Designation. IUP has been a Military Friendly School for seven years.
Universities.com has ranked IUP’s BS in Safety, Health, and Environmental Applied Sciences third in the nation for excellence among safety programs.
Brent McCusker, professor of geography at West Virginia University, will discuss the impact of climate change on households in Niger, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Malawi in a Zoom presentation Tuesday from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m.
Student Affairs in Higher Education has selected Kristin Eicholtz M’05, executive director of DeSales University’s Career Development Center, as its 2021 recipient of the Ronald Lunardini Distinguished Alumni Award.
