New Parent Newsletter - May 5

To help keep newly enrolled families on track, we are pleased to share the second issue of the New Parent Newsletter, which includes important information about time-sensitive items.

You will receive the New Parent Newsletter every other week through June 2. After that date, you will receive the June, July, and August editions of the Weekly Way newsletter, which is sent to all current parents.

Previous issues of the newsletter and full details regarding the information below are available on the New Parent Page at
marist.com/newparent, which we will continue to update through the summer.
War Eagle Welcome on May 15
Parents of all new students should have received an email from the Admissions Office on Tuesday, May 3 with details for the War Eagle Welcome event on Sunday, May 15. We appreciate your holding 1 - 4 p.m. on your family calendar as we finalized our plans. This event will be organized into three separate sessions based on your child’s specific peer group. Please be sure to check your family’s assigned session as provided in the email. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
Demographic Information
Parents of all new students should have received a copy of your child’s demographic information in the mail. Please review closely and email any missing information or updates to Associate Registrar Mrs. Joan Guhl.
Required Health Forms Due Friday, June 3
As a friendly reminder, all newly enrolled students must submit required health forms and complete required health-related tasks for the 2022-2023 school year in Magnus Health by June 3, regardless of participation in school sports or activities. This includes all Georgia High School Association forms, Vital Health Record, and Conditional Questions. Log-in instructions for Magnus Health were emailed to parents of all new students the last week of April.

Students interested in upcoming volleyball or softball tryouts must have three Georgia High School Association forms on file with a physical exam dated on or after April 1, 2021*, before the first day of tryouts. See below for mid-May tryout dates.

Regarding ImPACT testing, the link and code for the baseline ImPACT test will be sent to parents of all new students in mid-July as part of Marist’s comprehensive concussion program.

Please contact school nurse Mrs. Jess Kline with any questions or concerns.

*Please note: If the physical examination documented on the PreParticipation Physical Evaluation Form was done between April 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022, it will be sufficient for tryouts. However, an updated PreParticipation Physical Evaluation Form with a physical completed on or after April 1, 2022, will have to be submitted for the 2022-2023 school year.

Fall Sports Tryouts
  • Volleyball: May 16-17 for grades 9 through 12
  • Fast-Pitch Softball: May 17-19 for grades 9 through 12
