Campus Resource Spotlight: Mental Health and Resilience
|
|
|
NC State has a wealth of resources to help students navigate challenges, reduce stress, and strengthen their well-being.
- Make a Counseling Center Appointment Online: In order to ensure that a counseling center appointment fits within your schedule, you can fill out all of the necessary paperwork online and select a day and time that works best for you, rather than simply showing up to the center and waiting. In urgent situations, you can still go directly to the Counseling Center, but scheduling an appointment online is a great way to streamline the process.
- Embedded Counseling: The embedded couseling service at NC State allows you to access the same services you would in the Counseling Center, but these counselors have an office directly in your college.
- Workshops: The Counseling Center offers a series of workshops that are designed to help you learn coping skills to manage various challenges that may arise during your college journey. These workshops range from dealing with anxiety to improving relationships and more.
- Crisis Services: The Counseling Center is always available to help students during times of crisis. If you’re experiencing a mental health emergency and need immediate help, a counselor is always available. Students who are in crisis can go to the Counseling Center and be seen immediately, during normal business hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, and, if you’re experiencing an emergency after hours, the Counseling Center’s on-call counselor (919-515-2423) is available 24/7.
- Drop-In Spaces: The Counseling Center’s drop-in spaces feature a variety of experiences that allow you to find connection and support. These are open to all students and allow you to pick what you’re interested in.
- Prevention Services Outreach: Is there a specific issue you’d like to explore with your club or student organization? Prevention Services’ training and outreach programs explore a variety of mental health and wellness topics for residence halls, academic classes, and campus and student organizations.
- Alcohol and Other Drugs: Prevention Services’ Alcohol and Other Drugs unit offers numerous resources, self screeners and a strong recovery community for students battling substance use.
- Telehealth: Mantra Health offers flexible, virtual access to licensed therapists who understand your unique needs. You can connect during daytime, evening or weekend hours – whatever works best for you. Togetherall is an online peer support community available 24/7, 365 days a year ready to listen and give your mental well-being a boost.
