June 1 Today is a BIG birthday for Don Reed '68. Don has served the SC community faithfully for decades. He currently is a member of the Board of Trustees. Pray for Don on his special day.

2 Pray for the President's Cabinet as they meet today. Pray for wisdom and discernment in their discussions and decisions.

3 Recruiting continues for the 2026 fall semester. Pray for all who recruit and for all students who need to be at Sterling College but have not yet made that decision.

4 Summer months are always a time of financial pressure for Sterling College as we are between academic years and tuition income slows considerably. Pray that the Lord would deeply and richly provide for the financial needs of the college.

5 Pray for the Student Life staff as they prepare new student orientation in the fall. Pray also for O-Staff recruitment. Student Life needs 7 to 9 more students to sign up to help as O-Staff team members.

6 Today we remember the Normandy invasion during WWII, 82 years ago. This major military event changed the course of the war and ultimately led to victory over the Axis powers. Thank God for the bravery and sacrifice of so many.

7 Scripture focus: Romans 12:12 "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

8 Today is an on-campus Jump Start where students and their families come to campus for a series of events and to enroll for the fall semester. Pray for safe travel, enjoyable & positive interactions, and for God to be honored.

9 Today the Lil' Warrior Basketball Camp for kids K-4 begins. Pray for those facilitating the camps and for all the little ones who might have some nervousness about attending.

10 Pray that the efforts of the Advancement team in raising funds for the work and mission of Sterling College is exceedingly blessed by God.

11 Pray for Michelle (Schmidt '82) Hall, Sterling College CFO. The daily weight of navigating the financial maze of Sterling College rests solidly on her shoulders. She is a dedicated, faithful, and diligent servant to SC. She is often in the office by 5am and out of the office well after 5pm. Evenings, weekends, and holidays Michelle is often seen in her office. Pray for her peace, her joy, her health, her strength, and for the Lord to bless Sterling College with many new funding partners who will help ease the pressure on Michelle.

12 Pray for the Lord to bring new friends to Sterling College who deeply value Christ-centered, higher education and have a passion for financially supporting that work and mission.

13 Pray for those involved in the Warrior Wood & Wedge golf tournament today. This is a time for renewing relationships, fun competition, and a significant fundraiser for the Warrior Athletic Department. 

14 Scripture focus: Colossians 4:5-6 "Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."

15 Tonight at 7pm, the C. S. Lewis Center reading group will be discussing Lewis's work , The Great Divorce, led by Dr. Mark Watney. We are so very grateful for the growth of the C.S. Lewis Center. Thank God for the impact the Lewis Center is having on our campus and beyond.

16 Praise God for recent and much needed rains!

17 Pray for open positions across campus. There are faculty and staff positions that are vital and need to be filled. But, for the betterment of our students and for the strength of the college, the right people need to fill these very important positions. Pray that the Lord would lead the right people to the right positions.

18 Recruitment of new students is such an important role at SC. Pray for the Enrollment Services team and all recruiters as they tirelessly work through the summer to connect with students and their families. As of the writing of this prayer request, 196 new students have committed to attend SC in the fall. Pray for all those who are still in this very important decision process of where they will attend college. Sterling is the right place for so many. Pray that the Lord will direct the right ones towards Sterling College.

19 Pray for Kirby Fryman '08, Director of Physical Plant, as he leads the way this summer in campus facilities and grounds repairs, improvements, and preparation for the new academic year beginning in August.

20 Today is Rachel (Derstein '03) Miller's birthday. Rachel serves on the Sterling College Board of Trustees. Pray that Rachel's special day is deeply blessed and very enjoyable.

21 Scripture focus: I Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

22 Pray for President Scott Rich as he has been, and will continue to be, out on the road visiting with current and prospective donors. Summer is not a "slow down" time for Dr. Rich. Pray for safe travel, mental-emotional-spiritual strength, and for successful meetings.

23 Pray for alumni and friends who are hurting, lonely, or scared. Life can be very heavy for many reasons. Pray for God's perfect peace and comfort to be with them.

24 June 30th is the last day of the 2025-26 fiscal year. Pray for donors to be moved to give generously to the work and mission of Sterling College.

25 Pray for Brad Evenson, Director of Marketing and Communications. Brad is a one-man department with heavy pressure on him to produce quality material for departments across campus. Pray for his strength, clarity, and wise discernment.

26 Pray for all those involved in Homecoming 2026 planning. It takes months of preparation to create a successful Homecoming event across campus. Homecoming is October 1-4. Pray that all planning goes smoothly.

27 We thank God for YOU, our Prayer Warriors! May the Lord fill you with His presence and deeply bless you. Thank YOU for praying for Sterling College!

28 Scripture focus: II Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

29 Tomorrow is the last day of the fiscal year for Sterling College. Please pray for God's rich blessings upon all areas of the college.

30 Today is Deb Wiebe's last day of service to the Sterling College Athletic Department. She has faithfully served SC for 30 years. Thank God for her faithfulness to the college and our students. Pray for Deb as she begins a new chapter in her life. May God richly and deeply bless her.
