We are Tennessee WMU!

The Sewing Group of Union Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis made 100 pillows for Baptist Women’s Hospital.
A group in Chattanooga gathered recently to pray for all Tennessee Christian Women's/Men's Job Corp sites across the state and specifically for Sisters Who Care Transformation Place CWJC that will open in August and for Moving Forward CWJC in downtown Chattanooga.
New Market Baptist Church GAs and RAs sold lemonade and cookies to raise money for a local ministry, the Isaiah 117 House that provides physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting foster care placement.
Global Hunger Sunday
Last year, Southern Baptists collected $3.5 million dollars for Global Hunger Relief. When you designate your giving for Global Hunger Relief through TBMB, we keep 25% for Tennessee and send the remaining to IMB and NAMB. Great Commission Conversations: Compassion Ministries
Join us on August 25th at 10:00 am central time for a 30 minute Great Commission Conversation as we hear from Beth Moore of Compassion Ministries regarding Christmas Backpacks. After hearing from her, we will pray for her and the Christmas Backpack ministry. The recorded video conference will be emailed to all who register as well as be placed online for others to view.

Tennessee WMU Denver Missions Team
Tennessee WMU will be offering/promoting two mission trip opportunities to Denver this fall.

September 15-20, 2022 – TN WMU Denver Prayer Walking Mission Trip  
The team will prayer walk, encourage church planters, and assist in community engagement activities.

October 15-21, 2022 – Denver Send Relief Mission Trip
The team will work with the Send Relief Center and church planters to assist with mercy and compassion projects as well as outreach opportunities into new communities where church plants are being established.

Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions

Download the GOTM August 2022 monthly prayer prompts for TBMB ministries supported by gifts from Tennessee Baptists through the Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions.
We have passed the goal of $2.1 million for the 2021-22 Golden Offering with four weeks still remaining in the offering year that ends on August 31st. Click here for a thank you video from TBMB staff. 
The 2022-23 Golden Offering begins on September 1st. The Week of Prayer for State Missions suggested dates are September 11-18 and is a concentrated time of prayer for Tennessee Baptists. Through GOTM, we provide invaluable financial support for Tennessee ministries.
Standing orders for 2022-23 GOTM promotion materials have been shipped. Churches that do not have a standing order, can contact Jacki Holleman to order materials.

Youth Missions News

Youth Venture Team Berlin Report
Four 2021-22 Tennessee Youth Venture Team members joined four other Tennessee students, a youth pastor, and Kim Cruse from Tennessee WMU Staff for the GO Impact mission trip through IMB to Berlin, Germany, July 16-24.   The Venture Team students were Noah Crook from City View Church in Knoxville, Haylin Ownby from First Sevierville, Pierce McNew from Mt Harmony in Strawberry Plains, and Avery Pace from First Lexington. Connection 2022

Gather your girls from grades 6-12 and join us for Connection 2022 at Sevierville First Baptist Church, September 30-October 2, 2022.
The theme for 2022 is Re-Purposed, taken from 2 Corinthians 5:17-19: When we are saved, we are given a new identity AND a new purpose to bring others to Jesus. Our main speaker is Amy Jo Girardier of Brentwood Baptist Church, Brentwood and worship leaders are Carson-Newman's Seed Company.

Sports JAM Event Kit

Sports JAM missions event kit is available now! You can use the kit to lead your children’s ministry to see how missionaries around the world are using various sports to reach people with the gospel. The kit will include the missionary study with videos, Bible study on how we are commanded to share the gospel with those who haven’t heard, and ideas for sports themed games, snacks, and crafts. There will be sample schedules on how you could do this as a one-day event, weekend event, weekly event for a month, and many more. It could even be partnered with Children's Missions Day. Plan an event for your church or invite several churches to join together! The possibilities are endless!

RA Camp-O-Ree

October 14-16, 2022

Linden Valley Baptist Conference Center

Make plans now to attend the 2022 RA Camp-O-Ree! Royal Ambassadors and Challengers, boys grades 1-12, attending RAC participate in a multitude of activities, challenges, games, and crafts while enjoying the great outdoors. They meet missionaries from around the world and enjoy two action-packed worship services all in one weekend! 
This year, 2022 is the official 50th anniversary for the RA Camp-O-Ree! There will be a special anniversary celebration following the Saturday evening service, featuring cake and ice cream.

  • As TN WMU Mary's House is prepped for its newest missionary familly, we invite your group to donate gift cards for household goods, groceries, or restaurants.
  • Share a gift of love and the gospel with a child in need by participating in Christmas Backpacks. In Tennessee, 19.3% of children live in poverty. For some of these children, a backpack from Tennessee Baptists may be all they receive for Christmas.
