Week of June 1: Best Wishes to Our Graduates!
To all of our amazing graduating Dragons, we hope you "never forget the place you left" as we will never forget your energy, your smiles and all of your contributions to St. Michael's. We hope you will carry the knowledge, values and friendships you acquired at our School in your hearts.
As you head out to new high schools and new adventures, our best wishes, love and support go with you.
"On this, your graduation day, all stand and give cheer
to honor you for all the hard work you've done to get you here.
As we rise and give applause, be sure you don't forget
that learning is not over as your future plans are met.
May you always be a listener and learn from all you meet,
always keep a student's spirit and your life will be complete."

Summer Assignments and Back To School
Whether you call it the Summer Slide or the Brain Drain, students can lose ground in reading and math over the summer break.
To help our students practice what they learned this year and exercise their brains while they are away, HERE is the link to summer assignments by grade, as well as recommended reading lists. You can also find this information on our website under "Community/Summer-Back to School."
Once school is out, our team will be finalizing Back to School forms. Please check the website in mid-July for updates, forms and the 2016-2017 Academic Calendar.
If you have a child in grades 3-8 who plans to participate in intramural or collegiate sports in the coming school year, an athletic participation physical examination form will be needed. Click here for the form.
Support the Annual Fund!
As we approach the end of the fiscal year, if you have been meaning to make a donation to the Annual Fund, we would be most appreciative of your support.  Your tax-deductible gifts provide funds to sustain and advance academic programs, technology enhancements, athletics, Fine Arts, extracurricular activities, faculty professional development and facilities maintenance. Click here to make a donation.
Thank you to all who have made gifts to the Annual Fund this year!
Summer Administrative Office Hours
St.Michael's will observe summer office hours starting the week of June 6.
Our Administrative Offices will consolidate at the Bon Air Lower School Campus and will be open Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.
We will be closed on Fridays during the summer.
Middle School Faculty Welcome!
We'd like to extend a warm welcome to Samantha Futrell as she joins our faculty as a Middle School social studies teacher.
Ms. Futrell is currently a middle and upper school history teacher at Lancaster Country Day School in Pennsylvania, where she also serves as an advisor, a member of the Technology Committee, and is active in Model United Nations. Prior to her tenure at LCDS, she worked in the National Science Foundation's Office of Legislative and Public Affairs and as a graduate assistant in Liberty University's History Department, where her work included field research in Guatemala. Ms. Futrell is a graduate of Liberty University where she earned a B.A. and a M.A. in history. A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, Ms. Futrell is looking forward to returning to the south and being closer to family.
Welcome aboard!
Thank You!
St. Michael's is a vibrant School because of strong volunteer support.
Thank you to ALL of our volunteers for being so generous of your time talents and treasure this school year!
We are truly grateful!
Friendly Reminders:
  • MEDICATIONS: For children/families who have medication in the office or classroom,  please stop by on Tuesday to pick these medications up.

Got Library Books?
With the end of school in sight, this is a friendly reminder that we need families to help their children look for library books that need to be returned.  All books should be returned by Tuesday, May 31.  Also, families are welcome to contact the librarians by email if they want to know whether or not their child has any books out.
A reminder that children can access our digital eBook collection this summer through St. Michael's. Every child has been assigned a username. Your passcode is: dragons. Please contact Mrs.Wise or Ms. Price if you have misplaced the username information.
