Cherry Creations Shine at Annual Foods Revue

On Wednesday, June 17, the annual Foods Revue was held at the Stayer Center at Marian University. Ten youth participated in the event, creating dishes featuring the year's special ingredient: cherries! Entries included cherry pie, cherry galette, crepes, Jell-O, cookies, cheesecake, and smoked cherry pulled pork. Each participant displayed their dish on a decorated table, complete with a recipe card and centerpiece.
In addition to the food competition, youth had the opportunity to participate in a food photography contest, centerpiece contest, and plant identification contest. Photography entries showcased fruits, vegetables, baking projects, and desserts. Centerpieces featured a variety of creative themes, including summer, fall, birthdays, patriotic décor, and handmade paper flowers. The plant identification contest challenged youth to identify various fruits, vegetables, berries, and herbs.
A special shout-out goes to Caitlin Neitzel, the 2026 Fond du Lac County Fairest of the Fair, for joining us and adding a touch of sparkle to the evening.
The night concluded with a taste test, where families and friends sampled bite-sized portions of each dish. Best of Class award winners were Evlyn G. for the Cloverbud division, Maggie P. for Grades 3–5, and Bryce H. for Grades 6–8. Maggie P. was awarded Best of Show Overall. Leona G. received Best of Class in Photography, and Julia T. earned Best of Class in the Centerpiece Contest.

- Corrections received after 7:30 a.m. will not be included in the Market Livestock Meat Animal Sale book.

- Specifically for female exhibitors - Please dress appropriately for showing–wear clean, well-fitted clothing that reflects professionalism and respect for the event. A collared shirt is no longer required.

Small Animal Committee Fair Updates |
As we gear up for an exciting fair week, the Small Animal Committee has a few important reminders and requests to ensure a smooth and successful experience for everyone:
Barn Duty Sign-Up: Each exhibitor is asked to complete at least one barn duty shift. Responsibilities include sweeping floors, watering animals, answering fairgoer questions, upholding barn rules, and assisting with any additional needs as directed by the Small Animal Committee or Superintendent. Sign up here
Barn Tear-Down: We’ll need all hands on deck for barn tear-down at 6:30pm on Sunday, July 19. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Poultry Paperwork Reminder: All poultry must have the appropriate paperwork at drop-off. Animals without proper documentation will not be permitted in the barn—please double-check before arrival.
Small Animal Auction: The Small Animal Auction will take place at 4pm on Saturday, July 18 in the Cow Palace.

Volunteer Needed to take exhibits to the State Fair |
We are looking for a volunteer to take about 10-15 exhibits from the Fond du Lac County Fair down to the State Fair! Most of the exhibits are smaller in size. Exhibits need to be taken down to the State Fair Park on Tuesday, July 28 between 10am-3pm. Please email Tracy Keifenheim or call her at 920-896-3360 if you are interested or want more details!

Volunteer at the State Fair Discovery Barnyard |

The Wisconsin State Fair is looking for groups to serve as a volunteer Group of the Day in the Compeer Financial Discovery Barnyard on August 9 or 13. Groups are responsible for providing 14 volunteers to staff Discovery Barnyard from 9:30am - 9:00pm. Wisconsin State Fair provides admission, on-site parking for 3 vehicles, lunch and dinner in the Youth Center for all volunteers, and a $1000 stipend paid to the group.

Fond du Lac County Fair Parking - Reserved Weekly Parking Passes are available on the Fair website and click "Buy Tix" in the upper right corner. You can reserve multiple spots, but only 1 at a time. $50 each.

Goosechase during the Fair |
We will be hosting a County Fair Goosechase Experience to add even more fun and excitement to Fair week! Goosechase is a free electronic scavenger hunt played through the Goosechase app. Participants will complete missions by snapping photos, submitting text responses, and taking part in fun fair-themed challenges throughout the week.
The County Fair Goosechase will kick off on Tuesday, July 14, and conclude on Sunday, July 19 at 6:00 p.m. New challenges will be released each day, giving participants fresh opportunities to earn points and showcase their fair experiences. As missions are completed, teams will accumulate points for a chance to win great prizes!
Participants can work together as a club team and complete challenges while attending fair events, exhibiting projects, volunteering, or simply enjoying all that County Fair has to offer. We look forward to seeing the creativity, enthusiasm, and friendships captured in your photos throughout the week. Join the fun, complete daily challenges, and help your team climb the leaderboard during this exciting County Fair adventure!
