Pick with PJ Federation, PJ Library, Bender JCC, Pozez JCC, Edlavitch DCJCC, and Shaare Torah
Head to the apple orchard to pick fresh, delicious apples for Rosh Hashanah (The Jewish New Year) and Grandparents' Day! Celebrate together outside, pick apples, have professional family photos taken, read stories, and do a mitzvah (good deed) project (making cards for Jewish military service members). This program is being offered in two locations.

| Secure Community Network's Countering Active Threat Training hosted by Pozez JCC Federation, Pozez JCC, Congregation Olam Tikvah, and Beth Chaverim Reform Congregation
Federation partner Pozez JCC is hosting two upcoming sessions of Federation partner Secure Community Network’s Countering Active Threat Training (CATT). There will be both in-person and virtual options. This training is applicable to all houses of worship and other faith organizations. Anyone 13 years of age or older is welcome.

Three Minutes: A Lengthening — Extended Bethesda Row Screenings
Narrated by Helena Bonham Carter, the film is based on three minutes of footage shot in 1938, which are the only moving images remaining of the Jewish inhabitants of Nasielsk, Poland before the Holocaust. Three Minutes: A Lengthening explores the human stories hidden within the footage.

Kick off the High Holiday Season with EDCJCC's Annual Day of Awesome
Edlavitch DCJCC
Join Federation partner, EDCJCC's, JFamily team in the EDCJCC parking lot for their annual Day of Awesome, featuring live music from children’s entertainer Auntie A, dancing, instruments, yoga, Rosh Hashanah-themed arts and crafts stations, story time featuring books about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and snacks and drinks. Note: This program is geared toward children under six, but all families are welcome. $10/family.

UnPanic — Parenting in Uncertainty PJ Library, Agudas Achim, and Pozez JCC
Parenting babies, toddlers, and young children during these uncertain times makes it even harder. Join PJ Library, Agudas Achim, and Federation partner Pozez JCC for a guided online conversation to alleviate your concerns, help you keep a sense of calm, answer your questions, and support. There will also be three curated play dates, allowing your children to meet others their age in a controlled setting.

Congregation Olam Tikvah's High Holiday Food Drive benefitting ECHO
Congregation Olam Tikvah
Congregation Olam Tikvah's High Holiday food drive will support Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO), which provides temporary and emergency assistance, including food, clothing, household items, transportation, and financial support to about 1,000 families every year. Drop off donations in Olam Tikvah's main lobby from now until Yom Kippur (October 4th).

Washington Hebrew Congregation
Washington Hebrew Congregation's annual High Holiday Food Drive will benefit Nourish Now and N Street Village to help those in our area struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Drop off donations before Yom Kippur (October 4th) on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at either Washington Hebrew Congregation or WHC's Julia Bindeman Suburban Center in Potomac.
