Take a short walk in the woods at any place in Transylvania County and you’ll see greening leaves, hear bird song, and catch sight of a blossom or two. The evidence is clear: spring has sprung. And while we may experience the occasional April Shower, they do bring the May flowers and fill up the waterfalls in advance of summer fun.

It’s fine weather and a lovely time of year to get out and enjoy all the best of Brevard and Transylvania County. There are plenty of fun events as well, no matter your pleasure. Take a moment to enjoy all that spring has to offer.

Assault on the Carolinas

This immensely popular, epic, fully supported 50/100K bicycle race winds through some spectacular landscapes in the North and South Carolina mountains. But you don’t have to be up to the challenge to enjoy cheer on the athletes and enjoy the post-race celebration on the streets of downtown Brevard. The night before the race, enjoy a shop and stroll in Downtown Brevard. Businesses will be open until 8 pm with special discounts and complimentary snacks and beverages.
