Season's Greetings from our Founder & CEO |

Dear Operation Xcel Families, Friends, and Community Partners,
During this holiday season, thank you for your continued support of Operation Xcel. As you know, our work as an organization is very close to my heart, and I am grateful that Operation Xcel has cultivated many meaningful and supportive relationships over the last 15 years. Without your support, we would not have been able to serve over 3,000 students and families.
In the spirit of the end of the year, I want to share with you the impact Operation Xcel is currently having in our community. Currently, Operation Xcel serves students and families at five sites across

Guilford County, including High Point, Jamestown, Greensboro, and Stokesdale. This year alone, Operation Xcel has served over 400 students through afterschool and summer programs. Operation Xcel students are showing growth in academics and social skills.
Operation Xcel has partnered with other community organizations to provide impactful and
engaging enrichment programs for our youth. To highlight just a few: this year, we have
partnered with Communities in Schools to offer programs in cosmetology, drumline, art, and
screen printing; Alcohol and Drug Services to provide student programming and the “Parents
Promoting Wellness” series; High Point University Mobile Community Lab to provide STEM
programming; and so many others.
The heart of our work requires your consistent community support. Thank you for helping Operation Xcel promote eXcellent Communities, Education, and Leadership.
We wish you the very best this holiday season, and we look forward to working with you into the next year.
Joyous Holidays!
In Partnership,
Charlene Gladney
Founder and Executive Director

We are going to continue dreaming of a White Christmas because it is highly unlikely that the Central Piedmont area will get any snow before the end of January 2024. The Farmer's Almanac predicts that there will be precipitation during the week of December 24th - 28th. However, it's going to be rain instead of snow, which may be disappointing for some and relieving for others.
Now is a great time to plan activities for you and your family during the holidays. You might also consider donating blankets, coats, hats, gloves, and toiletries to those who don't have access to these basic amenities. Encouraging children to participate in charitable giving during this season may help them to recognize the importance of giving and to appreciate how blessed they are.
