ON THE ROAD 

Our latest On the Road took us to Hospital Sírio-Libanês, an integrated system with units in both the private and public health sectors reaching from São Paulo to Brasilia. An organization that demonstrates clinical excellence, a unwavering committment to care and purpose and a culture of human warmth, Hospital Sírio-Libanês is a primary example of committment to improving the patient experience.   
CASE STUDY 

Southeastern Health engaged in a process to break through barriers to achieve further improvement in the patient and family experience by building skills for communicating with compassion and caring in their strategy. As a result of addressing communication skills with their leaders, Southeastern Health experienced a 50% decrease in their grievance rate and an increase in CAHPS scores.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

In his role, Marcelo is responsible for structuring and improving the communication channels for capturing the voices and perceptions of the patients and their families and use these to drive the improvement projects throughout the Institution, in a collaborative approach and partnership with patients. He also strives to create alignment strategies for leadership, staff and physicians to strengthen their Culture of Quality, Safety and Patient Centered Care.
