Hello, USF Transfer Students,
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the semester. You’ve stepped into new routines, new classes, and a new rhythm, and that’s no small thing.
With midterms around the corner and spring break coming up, this can be a good moment to pause and check in with yourself. You’ve already navigated a lot this term, and your ability to adapt and keep going is something to be proud of.
Let’s finish these next two weeks strong and with intention. Wishing you a restful, well-deserved break ahead.

| Meet DeVanee Watkins
Kinesiology major on the pre-physical therapy track who transferred from San Francisco State University. Her transition to USF showed her just how important community can be.
Advice to fellow transfer students: Treat every connection you make on campus as a networking opportunity. You never know who might connect you to resources, professionals in your field, or new opportunities. Building those relationships not only supports your academic and career goals, it also helps you find community and create a home away from home.

| Meet Jocelyn Lambert
Jocelyn is a proud USF Mellon Scholar alum who transferred from Foothill College. She majored in Global Studies with a minor in Music and now serves as Program Coordinator for Strategic Initiatives, supporting the Mellon Scholar Program and the Horizon Collective.
Advice to fellow transfer students: Your timing is perfect. The perspective you bring as a transfer student is a strength, not a setback. Your lived experience adds value to the classroom, and your voice belongs here. Lean into what genuinely inspires you — curiosity will take you farther than you think.
