Student Affairs

UIC Student Affairs is accepting applications for more than 30 competitive scholarships open to students across all colleges and academic disciplines. Students are currently receiving over $277,000 in financial support from these opportunities. To be considered for the 2019-2020 academic year, students are highly encouraged to log in to UIC SnAP.  
A general application must be submitted before addressing criteria specific to each scholarship.
The DEADLINE for these applications are January 1, 2019

CHANCE PROGRAM De-Stress Fest 

Take a break from your studies and come de-stress with the CHANCE program! The CHANCE office will be open until 7:00pm so that you may have a study area, and will also be providing tutoring. They will also be providing free food!

The UIC Pop-Up Pantry

This is a free resource available to all UIC students. The Pantry now offers (in limited supplies): milk, eggs, yogurt, and cheese.  We also have for the first time fresh fruits and vegetables to offer from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The Pantry operates due to the generosity of donations received from UIC students, faculty, and staff.

Location: Student Center East  - Wellness Center Suite 238
Hours: Wednesdays and Thursdays: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
  Research   
Summer Internships in Science and Technology (SIST)
Undergraduate sophomores and juniors majoring in physics, engineering (mechanical, electrical and computer), materials science, mathematics and computer science conduct research with Fermilab scientists and engineers. SIST aims to increase the representation of underrepresented groups (Black, Hispanic/Latino, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Alaska Native/American Indian) and women in scientific research and the engineering workforce.

Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) 
SULI places undergraduate physics or engineering majors a paid 10-week summer internships at Fermilab. These internships offer a chance for students to work with Fermilab scientists or engineers on a project at the frontier of scientific research in particle physics.

Summer Research and Professional Development For Undocumented Students in STEM Fields
Apply for a variety of programs funded by non-federal sources where eligibility does not depend upon American citizenship. All of these research programs run during a 8-10 week summer session and typically provide a stipend (often $3000-$7000), lodging, meals, and/or travel expenses.

OneUSDA Internship Program
The OneUSDA Internship Program offers a comprehensive developmental program intended to provide students with experience in a dynamic work environment that will enhance their educational goals and shape their career choices. This internship program provides hiring pathways for the following fields: Veterinary Science, Natural Resources and Biological Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Business, Contracting, Procurement, and Industry, and General Administration and Office Support.
