Supported by Google's Cyber NYC Institutional Research Program, researchers from NYU Tandon School of Engineering are creating an interactive system that presents intelligent challenges to distinguish between real and deepfake audio and video during live calls. They have developed a method that enhances reliability in traditional forensic analysis by jointly optimizing a forensic analysis network and a neural imaging pipeline, significantly improving photo manipulation detection accuracy from about 45% to over 90%.
