Advocacy and support are their passions, and it’s evident in the impactful work they do for student survivors of interpersonal violence. While only in their roles as Clemson’s first Interpersonal Violence Response coordinators for a couple of years, Lauren Parker and Bat’sé Smart are no strangers when it comes to helping students feel safe and supported. 

Do you know what to expect if an active threat situation was to occur at Clemson? The Clemson University Police Department has created a three-part video series to help you understand each aspect of the response to an active threat and your role in each part.

NHTSA data shows that alcohol-related driving fatalities in South Carolina increased 26% from 2020 to 2021, making SC the eighth-highest state for alcohol-impaired driving. Make the right choice and help CUPD in their effort to reduce the damage caused by DUIs.

Clemson University Public Safety will conduct a full-scale active threat training exercise on Monday, October 16 at Tillman Hall. Tillman Hall will be closed and the surrounding area will be inaccessible. Those near the area can expect to see first responder activity and participating actors.

Need medical care on nights and weekends when Redfern is closed? Located off campus? MUSC Health and Redfern Health Center offer an easy-to-use online virtual urgent care service if you are physically present in the state of South Carolina. It’s accessible 24/7 and free!

The best way to fight the flu is to get a yearly flu vaccine. It takes about two weeks after vaccination to build immunity to flu viruses, so make an appointment at Redfern to get yours now, before the upcoming breaks.

CUPD will once again participate in National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 28 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The CUPD substation in the Hub at Douthit Hills will serve as a drop-off location for any unused or expired prescription medications.
