Happy Birthday, St. Michael's!67 years ago on September 10, 1957, St. Michael's opened its doors to 63 first, second, and third grade students, with subsequent grades added each year.
While St M has grown to meet the changing needs of our students, what has stayed constant -- our strong values, the love of learning that is instilled, and the sense of joy and belonging that our students, families, and faculty feel here.
Happy Birthday, St. Michael's!

Middle School News
On Friday, September 13, Amina Luqman-Dawson, author of the Middle School summer reading book Freewater, will visit St. Michael's as the Middle School engages in a full day of learning activities centered on our common reading experience. Students will hear from Ms. Luqman-Dawson, prepare for our Freewater-themed field trips and research experiences, participate in book club discussions, begin a community learning wall, and more.
On Thursday, September 19, sixth graders will travel to the Great Dismal Swamp, and on Friday, September 20, seventh graders will travel to James Madison's Montpelier. Students will engage in site-based research as we continue to explore the specific settings and themes of the novel. Eighth graders will be conducting academic research through English class. These learning experiences will culminate in our community learning wall and celebration during Community Time on October 1.
