Good morning! Clemson will celebrate Military Appreciation Week from Monday, November 17 to Saturday, November 22. The Step Fiercely Forward Walk is being held this Saturday to raise awareness for interpersonal violence; A faculty member earned the 2025 Academic Partner Research Award by Prisma Health.

What to know today:

Clemson University will celebrate Military Appreciation Week from Monday, November 17 to Saturday, November 22. There are a variety of events and traditions scheduled throughout the week, culminating inside Memorial Stadium at Clemson’s home football game against Furman University.

Join the Step Fiercely Forward Walk on Saturday, November 15, to help raise awareness for interpersonal violence, presented by Healthy Campus and Clemson’s Interpersonal Violence Resource Alliance.

Prisma Health recently honored associate psychology professor Kaileigh Byrne (right) with a 2025 Academic Partner Research Award at the hospital system’s Health Education and Research Institute Showcase in Columbia. Byrne’s research is informing innovative treatment strategies for patients hospitalized with complications stemming from alcohol-use disorder.

Senior Christian Afonso put his Clemson Experience to work over the summer, bringing lessons learned as a student worker in Clemson’s Office of Experiential Learning to help TD Bank implement proven educational strategies when onboarding hundreds of new employees.

The Office of Human Resources has recently updated policies regarding leave and remote work. Changes include decommissioning of the Grant Personal Leave policy, eligibility updates to the annual and sick leave policies, and state approval of the Remote Work Policy.

Faculty are reminded to complete a new digital intake form on InfoEd when beginning the process of submitting an external funding proposal. Log into InfoEd, click “Sponsored Programs” in the left side navigation bar and click “Submit New Proposal Intake Form.” The form will route to your college pre-award office for next steps.

Empower, the provider of South Carolina’s Deferred Compensation program, is hosting a live webinar on Friday, November 21, at 9 a.m., to explore 401(k) and 457(b) plan choices and how to enroll. Registration is required to attend.
