| Spring looks like it is finally coming! That means it is finally time that we can be back outside enjoying the warmer temperatures and new life is beginning to bloom.
I wanted to share a couple of items with you regarding staffing at the Extension Office.
First, a reminder that Tracy has taken a new job, which has left the office a bit short of support. The county is in the process of hiring, but this position is a bit different than what you may recall from the past. The position summary from the Dodge County Human Resource Department is listed below:
- This position is responsible to assist the Area Extension Director with the daily oversight of office operations, serves as a liaison between the county and Extension business partners, providing program assistance and administrative support for programs, and provides responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents.
- The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Extension – Dodge County Department is a cooperative educational outreach program of Dodge County, the University of Wisconsin System, and the United States Department of Agriculture.
While the hiring is in process, we do not expect a person to enter the role with experience working with potentially any of the many computer systems to support the variety of programs that are offered by UW Extension. Please be patient with all of the staff during this transition.
Second, I anticipate there will be a delay in fair books and opening the entry system. Again, I would ask that you are patient and wait to hear more about those hopefully in May.
Thanks for your patience and support.

Attention 4-H Clubs
Amy Voigt (Past President), Teresa Stowell (President Elect) and Eric Salmi (Current President) are looking for invitations to your club meeting times and locations. We would like to be placed on your agenda. We would like to take 5 minutes of your clubs time to discuss the Executive Board and possibly recruit our youth for the future, when possible our current Youth Reps will be coming along. We are currently missing youth on two different boards and would like to fill these vacant positions to help get the member’s feedback at Executive and Leaders Meetings. These are opportunities for our youth and adult leaders. We are continuing to make the “Best Better”. Please feel free to contact any one of us at the below emails or phone numbers.
