Hello Volunteer,
Summer is right around the corner, and I hope you've been getting out more and enjoying all the nature Texas has to offer. Fun fact... did you know it's always 10 degrees cooler at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary? Okay, that is not scientifically documented, but it sure feels that way!
Moving forward, as Houston heats up our volunteers opportunites slow down, but we still have some meaningful ways you can support our mission. So check them out, sign up if you are available, and we hope to see you soon!

Upcoming Volunteer Projects

Habitat Hawks Work Day

*this Saturday*
June 5th, 9am-noon
Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary
Spend a morning improving our forest habitat by pulling invasive plants including air potato, arrowhead vine, and Japanese Honeysuckle. Learn from lead volunteer Les Pearce the best methods for control of these weeds. Tools will be provided. Sign up here.

Sanctuary Stewards

Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary
Update: we still need a few more volunteers to help us fill up the shifts. This a great way to enjoy nature WHILE protecting it. Volunteers are welcome to bring a friend, child, or other family member with them.
Enjoy walking our peaceful trails while helping educate visitors on the difference between a sanctuary and a public park.

Monday Maintenance Crew

Every other Monday starting June 14th, 7am - 10am
