Building Trust Through Communication: Techniques for Engaging Youth and Families (Webinar)
This Sharpening Skills Webinar explores the foundational skills of active listening and non-violent communication (NVC) to help CASA volunteers connect meaningfully with children, families and caseworkers. During the training, participants practice active listening techniques to gain insights from the child’s perspective, understand non-verbal cues and build trust. Through real-world examples and practical strategies, CASA volunteers will gain tools to de-escalate tension, bridge communication gaps and advocate more effectively. This training also touches on strategies for documenting these interactions effectively and ethically.
