If you are applying for positions in Handshake with a GPA requirement, be sure to include your GPA on your Handshake profile and make it visible to employers, otherwise it may appear to the employer that your profile "Does not Match all Preferences" even though you may actually match the employer's GPA qualifications.  This feature can be  found in the "Education" tab of your Handshake profile.

In preparation for GW's aforementioned Media, Journalism, + Public Affairs Networking Event (MJPA) the Center for Career Services is creating a resume book for GW undergraduate sophomores, juniors, & seniors interested in both internships and full-time positions within the Design, Media, Strategic Communications and PR industries. Apply to have your resume considered for inclusion in the book which will be reviewed by employers like Veracity Media, Weber Shandwick, Burson-Marstellar, + POLITICO to name a few. The conference will feature a series of professional development workshops including a panel discussion moderated by SMPA’s own Nikki Usher, that will highlight a behind the scenes look in media and journalism. Panelists will include CNN’s White House reporter, Kate Bennett, AtlanticLIVE's Associate Producer (formerly of Meet the Press) Justin Peligri + Hadas Gold, CNN's reporter on Europe (formerly of POLITICO). Break out sessions will  include a resume workshop, a Digital Storytelling series presented by POLITICO and a Campus to Career Alumni Panel featuring former GW students from Nat Geo, Discovery and more.
