Inaugural MLK Leadership Breakfast highlights state’s business successes, initiatives, goals |
UAH presented the inaugural Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Breakfast on Jan. 15. Focused on the theme “Leaders Shaping the Business Community of The Future,” the event featured business experts from across northern and central Alabama who offered messages of economic innovation, growth and cooperation.

UAH Constellation Concert Series showcases musical innovations for 2025 |
Experience new music for a new year with the Constellation Concert Series presented by the UAH Department of Music. The series opened Jan. 14 with a collaboration that drew from the literary sphere. For February and March, Constellation offers a new mini-series titled “New Music for New Ears,” featuring innovative chamber ensemble What is Noise at the Speakeasy @ Campus 805, as well as The Rule of Thirds in Roberts Recital Hall.

Electric Propulsion Club students seek patent for experimental ion thruster, present at International Astronautical Congress in Italy |
The Electric Propulsion Club at UAH recently traveled to Milan, Italy, to present STARGATE, an experimental gridded ion thruster developed by the group, at the 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC). The team consists entirely of UAH undergraduates and is an independent student research organization working in the fields of electric propulsion and plasma physics.

Mark your calendar for this year’s Homecoming: February 13-15. In addition to the traditional Crowning of the Court, festivities will include Paint the Town Blue, a lip sync contest, tailgating, Service Saturday and more!
Make plans to cheer on the Chargers as the UAH basketball, baseball and softball teams take on Christian Brothers and Union over the course of the weekend.

Black History Month 2025: A history of music in Alabama and Huntsville |
From W.C. Handy to Little Richard, Huntsville has fostered musical achievements across all genres. Join local historian William Hampton, founder of the Huntsville Revisited museum, and Codie Gopher, Huntsville Music board member, on Feb. 25 as they explore the history of music in Alabama and Huntsville, focusing on contributions of the black community.
Held in honor of Black History Month and in partnership with the City of Huntsville’s Music Office and Downtown Huntsville, Inc., this event is free and open to the public.

The second annual Business of Space Conference aims to foster collaboration between researchers and space industry stakeholders to shape the future of academic and policy research. Attendees will review the latest insights and explore ideas and strategies to drive innovation and growth in this rapidly evolving sector. Registration closes on Feb. 17.
