What is your favourite thing about your role?
I am passionate about clinical research, particularly in enhancing patient educational interventions. Collaborating with a diverse team of leaders, research fellows, and health professionals, I strive to develop evidence-based practice recommendations for coronary heart disease patient care.
What are you working on at the moment?
I am a research assistant working in a SOLVE-CHD project named Heart2Heart program. This digital peer support initiative assesses the effectiveness of a mobile app in enhancing social connectedness, clinical outcomes, and patient experiences among individuals with coronary heart disease.
Why is this project especially interesting or important to you?
Having extensive experience with heart patients, I recognize the critical role of secondary prevention and patient education. Yet, the demanding workload in clinical settings often impedes patient access to structured education, especially post-hospital discharge. I'm keen to observe patient outcomes and feedback on this digital peer-support project.
Tell us about something fun you’ve done with the SOLVE-CHD team!
A great team vibe and collaboration. I enjoy working with other SOLVE-CHD members, we are all study and/or work in heart-related research, and we are at different stages of research career. We are helping each other, and so inspired by the leaders in our group. I am looking forward to attending our annual retreat in April (first time :))!
What is a recent achievement you’re proud of?
I have recently submitted my PhD thesis after nearly four years of hard work (2020-2024)!
What do you like to do outside of research?
Traveling. Outdoor activities like hiking and swimming. And I am starting to enjoy indoor cycling classes, too!
