Melissa K. Nelson, Ph.D.
(Turtle Mountain Chippewa)

Native ecologist, writer, media-maker and indigenous scholar-activist. President/CEO of The Cultural Conservancy since 1993, Dr. Nelson is Professor of American Indian Studies at San Francisco State University. Her work is dedicated to indigenous rights and revitalization, biocultural heritage and the renewal of community health and cultural arts.

Lois Ellen Frank, Ph.D. (Kiowa)

Santa Fe, New Mexico based chef, author, Native foods historian and photographer. She has spent over 25 years documenting foods and life ways of Southwestern Native American tribes. Dr. Frank is an adjunct professor at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA), in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
