CRIDC Poster Competition Registration Deadlines Approaching

Deadlines to participate in the 2025 Career, Research, and Innovation Development Conference (CRIDC) Online and In-Person Poster Competitions are rapidly approaching. Submissions to participate in the Online Poster Competition are due this Friday, January 10, 2025, by 4:00 p.m. EST. The deadline to submit for the In-Person Competition is 8:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Submissions are limited to one entry per presenter. Submissions from all colleges and departments are accepted. Research at any stage is welcome. Learn more about CRIDC, competition requirements, and more.

| Career Development Opportunity: All Majors Spring Career Fair
|
The Spring 2025 All-Majors Career Fair is the largest spring Career Fair on Georgia Tech’s campus. Every year, hundreds of companies and thousands of students attend the fair. Companies attending the fair are hiring co-ops, interns, and full-time positions, with students from all majors and degree types. This year's Fair takes place on January 27 and 28, 2025. Mentoring Conversations: Inclusive Mentoring
|
The 2024-25 Mentoring series for graduate students and postdocs resumes this month with Mentoring Conversations: Inclusive Mentoring workshop, which takes place on Thursday, January 23, 2025. In this workshop, mentors will reflect on their current advising and mentoring practice and learn how to develop equity-minded mentoring relationships. Activities in this workshop will develop competencies and help faculty develop mentoring agreements as a tool that establishes shared expectations between mentors and mentees. Registration is required. Note: Individuals who complete five workshops within this series will receive a certificate of completion.

| Future Faculty Job Search Academy
|
The Future Faculty Job Search Academy prepares participants for the unique academic job search process. Participants will learn how to prepare for the job talk and interview process during this session. This workshop takes place on January 28 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and is open to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars interested in higher education careers. Registration is required.

Funding Opportunities: Chateaubriand Fellowship: Deadline Jan 10
|
The Chateaubriand Fellowship is a grant offered by the Embassy of France in the United States. It supports outstanding PhD students from U.S institutions who wish to conduct part of their doctoral research in France for a period ranging from 4 to 9 months. Chateaubriand fellows are selected through a merit-based competition, with expert evaluation in France and in the United States. The 2025-2026 call for applications is now open and applicants can apply for HSS or STEM. The Chateaubriand Fellowship offers a fall and spring fellowship, each lasting four months. The application deadline is January 10, 2025.

| Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship: Deadline Jan 14
|
The Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE NNSA SSGF) provides excellent financial benefits and professional development opportunities to students pursuing a Ph.D. in fields of study that solve complex science and engineering problems critical to stewardship science. The DOE NNSA SSGF is open to U.S. citizens planning full-time, uninterrupted study toward a doctoral degree at an accredited U.S. university. Those eligible to apply include senior undergraduate students and first-and second-year doctoral students focusing their studies on high energy density physics, nuclear science, or materials under extreme conditions. The deadline to apply is January 14, 2025.

Frontera Computational Science Fellowships: Deadline Feb 7
|
The Frontera Fellowship program provides a year-long opportunity for talented graduate students to compute on the most powerful academic supercomputer in the world and collaborate with experts at the Texas Advanced Computing Center Fellows will receive a $34,000 stipend in two installments of $17,000 and up to $12,000 in tuition allowance throughout the year. | Get HIV Tested this Month!

The Wellness Empowerment Center provides free HIV Testing for students, faculty, and staff in partnership with local community partners. This month, attend a free testing event on Tuesday, January 15 or January 28, from 11 am until 3:00 pm.

| On January 22, 2025, from 5 until 7 pm, Explore the intricacies of the Jodi Arias Case, unraveling the nuances of stalking behaviors. During this event, we'll unveil case specifics, urging attendees to scrutinize and identify the telltale signs and red flags indicative of an unhealthy relationship and stalking tendencies.
This immersive experience aims to heighten awareness, foster a keen understanding of stalking dynamics, and empower individuals with the knowledge needed to recognize and address the complexities of such behaviors. Registration to attend this event is required.

Modeled on a typical book club, this group offers space for international and domestic members of the Georgia Tech community to share their experiences crossing cultures. Attendees will listen to podcast episodes prior to gathering, then come together for tea, snacks, and discussion. Interculturali-Tea is sponsored by the Office of the Provost Employee Engagement & Culture Council and is hosted by CTL and C21U. Registration is required. This event takes place on January 15, 2025.

Georgia Tech Men's Basketball International Night

Join us on January 14, 2024, at McCamish Pavilion as Georgia Tech’s Men's Basketball team takes on Clemson University. Doors open at 8:00 pm; the game begins at 9:00 pm. International students are encouraged to attend. Bring your active Buzz Card for free entry. Students are encouraged to enter through the Mark Moon Family entrance. A bucket Hat giveaway is available for the first 1,000 students.
