Special Appreciation Meal on Dec. 19th & Kids Day Dec. 22!

This month we are having 2 special days to celebrate our community. On Friday, December 19th, we’ll be having a special Customer Appreciation Turkey Dinner! This meal is served by volunteers to give our barter workers a break for all their efforts throughout the year. Be sure to join us for this delicious family feast. On Monday, December 22nd,we are having our annual Family & Kids’ Day. We are planning fun games and activities, and gathering gifts to hand out to families along with a special kids meal. We want

Save the Date for Winterfolk XXVII *January 31st!*

Folk music lovers, it’s that time of year we look so forward to! Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 31st, 2015. Winterfolk 27 will be held at the Aladdin Theater, 3017 SE Milwaukie Ave., Portland. Tickets are $30 in advance and $32 at the door, and go on sale in mid-December. This year, the raffle includes: 1 day of studio time at Billy Oskay's Big Red studio, and a gorgeous Simon & Patrick Woodland Pro Folk Sunburst acoustic guitar generously donated by Artichoke Music. 5 things to remember when getting away this winter

Rebecca sat with Sisters wise sage and dedicated volunteer, Sammy, to get his take on life and some thoughts on what it means to "get away" this winter.

1) It's not what you are getting away from, it's what you're getting away to.

2) Away is a place that is not on any map, but you know it when you find it!

3) Away is a place that's easy to find, and a feeling that is impossible to forget.

4) Some people weren't meant to be tamed. For example, Me, Sammy.

5) Dreams don't end when the road does.
