Potential Federal Grant Opportunities for the CASA Network

There are several open federal grant solicitations that could potentially benefit your program or other organizations you work with closely. These grants are administered directly by federal agencies, and Texas CASA does not manage or participate in the application process. However, Texas CASA is happy to provide information on funding opportunities that could be a good fit for your program and related initiatives.

The Texas CASA Communications team wants to tell stories of your success. If you have an inspiring volunteer or staff story you want to share with the network and general public, simply send us the idea and we will write the story for you! Here are the types of stories we would like to share in the upcoming months:

Raise the Room: A Workshop for CASA Pre-Service Facilitators
|
|
|
|
Texas CASA is thrilled to be partnering with seasoned facilitator Eva Jo Meyers on a skill-building workshop for pre-service training facilitators, Let's Raise the Room! If you are excited about creating more engaging and inclusive training for your CASA volunteers, this session is for you. Knowing how to “raise the room” through creating braver and more participatory learning environments is a skill that can be developed.

Texas Education Agency Foster Care Summit
|
|
|
|
We are thrilled to announce TEA's first-ever Foster Care Summit developed in collaboration with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the Supreme Court of Texas Children's Commission. The purpose of this training is to provide guidance, resource tips and tools to assist local education agencies and child welfare organizations with addressing the educational needs and requirements for students in foster care, as required by Every Student Succeeds Act (2016).

The CPS 101 Webinar, led by Angel Gillispie and Kathleen Rios, will give you an overview of the Child Protective Services (CPS) division of DFPS. CPS responsibilities include providing services to children and families in their own homes, placing children in foster care, providing services to help youth in foster care successfully transition to adulthood and helping children get adopted. | Texas CASA is excited to share the full CASA ACTs (Anti Child-Trafficking) framework for local CASA programs. Join Texas CASA’s survivor leader and trafficking consultant Rhonda Kuykendall, as well as Advocacy Initiatives Director Candice Dosman, as they provide insights into how your program can get started and/or move forward in this area. Event will be held via zoom on September 27, 2023 at 02:30 p.m.
