The Spring Educator Forum will be unlike anything you've experienced at a STEM Forward forum before! Nasco, a lead STEM/STEAM curriculum, supplies, and solutions company, will bring down the "STEM Playground & Makerspace" for our educators to make, play, tinker, and learn the latest and most popular curriculum, lessons, activities, tools, and technology available for our educators. All STEM experience levels welcome from beginner to expert and elementary through high school.

Enjoy peer-to-peer breakout sessions on lessons and activities that the 2018 Outstanding Educators and Nasco's February grant recipients use in their classrooms during 2018. There will also be an emphasis on the upcoming changing science standards.

The first draft of the 2019 Science standards, published in November, received a record number of reviews. The online feedback survey received 230 entries with 30% of them from groups. 73 people attended MDE town hall meetings and there were 156 attendee at feedback meetings at the MnSTA conference and regional meetings. Thank you to all who completed the review.

The Science Standards Review Committee is analyzing this data and making revisions in preparation for second draft which will be published Feb. 14. It will be available for feedback until Feb. 28. Watch for information about feedback meetings and the online survey in the February update and on the MDE Science page. The final draft will be published in May with full implementation of the standards and a new version of the MCA exam in three or four years.
