WELCOME

Fall Semester is off to a fast start.

The students were back on campus in August and classes and activities were in high speed mode by September. Senior Design Projects kicked off, the Career Center hosted three Career Fairs, and the College of Engineering and Computing welcomed companies to their buildings, classrooms, and student organization meetings.

THE BIOTECH FORUM

Join BioOhio and Miami University to learn more about the innovative biomedical research taking place on the Miami University campus and meet the talented students. This is an opportunity to find out more about Miami's biomedical research and connect with biomedical students. The agenda includes faculty and student research presentations, an industry roundtable discussion, and networking time.

CAREER FAIR PREP EVENT

Thank you to GE Aerospace, Ely Lilly, and TEL for being a part of the first Career Fair Prep Event.

The students had the opportunity to learn more about career planning and talk with company representatives to prepare them for the Career Fairs.

CAREER EXPLORATION PANEL

CEC 111 Career Exploration Event Partcipants

Thank you to all of the companies and industry professionals that partcipated in CEC's Career Exploration Panel and generously shared their time and experience with the first year students. The students learned about a variety education and career paths and gained valuable hints on how to maximize their time in college.

CEC was thrilled to have so many careers and companies represented. We are looking forward to hosting this event again in the Fall Semester.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CONNECTIONS

International CEC students are interested in both summer internships and fulltime roles. CEC is looking for companies that are able to hire international students with an F-1 Student Visa and that would like to connect with these students

EMPLOYEE EDUCATION

Ohio TechCred offsets the costs to upskill and educate your employees. It can provide up to $2,000 per credential, and employers are eligible to receive up to $30,000 for each monthly funding round. This is an extremely cost effective way to quickly upskill your employees, and can include custom courses to ensure your teams always receive the most relevant training. Ohio TechCred funding will open again in November.

The advanced manufacturing and materials evaluation courses and workshops offered by the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Department are eligible for Ohio TechCred. These courses can be taken independent of other classes, as part of a degree/certificate program, used as professional development, or customized to meet your company's needs.

Living Learning Communities for first year CEC students - Advancing Women in Engineering and Software at Miami (AWESoM) and Guys in Engineering and Computing (GiEC).
