Do people return your calls? What if they don’t?
Do people return your calls? What if they don’t?
February 1, 2017
Psalm 86:5-7
You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
    abounding in love to all who call to you.
Hear my prayer, Lord;
    listen to my cry for mercy.
When I am in distress, I call to you,
    because you answer me.

New International Version (NIV)
               Do people return your calls?  What if they don’t?  How many chances do they get?  We may reach out once or twice but eventually we expect to hear some word back.  No response reveals no interest.
                Good news!  Our God answers us.  In distress, David confesses his deep dependence on God.  He calls out to God all day long.  Why?  He knows that the Lord is forgiving and good abounding in love to all who call to him.  Is that right?  Does God abound in love to all who call on him?  He really does!
                David calls on God for mercy in his time of distress because God is the God who answers our calls.  We never get a busy signal or a pre-recorded message.  And whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.  So call on him now.  He will answer!
Pray with me:
Father, we have not because we ask not.  Today we remember that you are rich in mercy, full of love and forgiveness.  We call on you because we trust you to hear and answer.  Thank you for taking time for us today.  Help us to take time for you today, we pray.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones

As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
