Patriot Post - November 8, 2024 |
Good Afternoon, Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Somehow, we have already reached the end of the First Quarter! And somehow...we have reached the end of the First Quarter and we are still seeing days with temperatures into the 70s and mornings in the 60s. As bizarre as it may be, and as much as some of us may yearn for those fall-like temperatures, when it randomly snows on us in a month, we will be wanting these afternoons back again.
With the end of the quarter and the current lack of much change in temperature, we have received a few questions from parents regarding when the change over to winter uniforms will take place. After discussing as an administration, we have determined that the official change to the winter uniform will take place starting on Monday, November 18th. At that point, all students are expected to wear their full winter uniform each day to school.
Please remember, that students are welcome to start wearing their winter uniform at any time. Sweatshirts and jackets are not part of the school uniform and are not permitted to be worn in school. Please view the Parent-Student Handbook online for specific details on the dress code.
While the First Quarter concluded today, we do find ourselves very busy between here and Thanksgiving Break! Between the transition from Fall to Winter sports, our Fall Musical, 40 Hours, the CSC Thanksgiving Drive, and so much more, our students and our community will be very busy kicking off Q2.
So please take a few minutes to review all of the information from our offices below...

From The Office of Student Services... |
After-School Supervision Reminder:
After-school Supervision is offered for all students on most days until 5:00PM. Supervision is open for students who are waiting for a ride or a sport or activity to begin. Students should be using this time to get work done, or socialize quietly with their peers so that other students can work.
Students are not permitted to remain after 5:00PM. They must exit the building at that time.
Students staying for after-school supervision are expected to remain in the designated location (Library or Cafeteria) and not be wandering the building. Students found out of bounds will both receive demerits and not be permitted to remain after school.
No students are permitted to be in the academic towers after 2:45PM unless they are in a club meeting.
After-School Supervision is an extension of the school day, and students still must abide by all rules set out by the school, meaning, the use of appropriate language, behavior, etc.. If a student does not have a reason to remain after school (ride, activity, sport, meeting), they should be heading home.
Attendance:
If you know your child is going to be absent from school, a Parent or Guardian must complete the Google Form found HERE, and on the school website under "Resources".
Early Dismissals must be called into the Main Office by a Parent or Guardian. A student will not be dismissed without a prior Parent/Guardian phone call.
For Early Dismissals, as much advanced notice as possible is required (24 hours is preferred).
For any questions on attendance, please email Mrs. Gallagher - Erin.Gallagher@jcarroll.org.

Today was the final day of the First Quarter. Teachers will be using next week to finalize all grades to ensure accuracy on report cards. Report cards will be released electronically on Monday, November 18th.
Per the Parent-Student Handbook, any student who fails more than one class for the quarter is academically ineligible for any sport or activity for 15 calendar days, which will begin on Tuesday, November 19th. Students must be passing all classes or not failing more than one at the end of 15 days to resume work with their sport/activity.
