"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much."
--Helen Keller
How do we build a Dragon community? From morning meetings and handshakes, cross-grade reading buddies, Middle School advisory groups and Middle School Friday clubs, to Dragon Guides, chapel pals and chapel services, St. Michael's is constantly striving to grow and support a thriving, close-knit school community. It is one of the ways that we "do small in a BIG way!"
This week, our sixth graders joined our seventh graders for a Middle School adventure day on the ropes at Challenge Discovery.
The objectives of the trip were to:
  1. promote the building of meaningful relationships based on vulnerability and trust.
  2. help our students understand the value of working together and supporting each other.
  3. provide opportunities for students to build confidence and self-esteem and to do things they did not think were possible.
How did our Middle Schoolers like Challenge Discovery? To quote one of our sixth graders: "It was AWESOME!"
