Nashville, TN - October 10, 2023 – When Stephanie Urbina Jones’ grandmother was on her deathbed 20 years ago, she looked Urbina Jones in the eye and said, “You are going to be a messenger of our culture. You are going to share country music with chili peppers all over the world.” And being a messenger is exactly what Urbina Jones has done. Among her many achievements, she was the first artist to appear with mariachi on the Grand Ole Opry.
Now Stephanie Urbina Jones & The Honky Tonk Mariachi bring their exciting new sound to the Singing Water Vineyards in Comfort,TX on Oct. 27 from 6:00pm - 9:00 p.m. The show is a benefit for the Boys & Girls Club of Comfort. Tickets available. This performance is presented through the support of The Texas Heritage Music Foundation.
The San Antonio/Fredericksburg native and now Nashville/Mexico-based singer/songwriter sets her storytelling to a one-of-a-kind sound she’s created and calls “Honky Tonk Mariachi”— a gorgeously orchestrated fusion of her Mexican roots and San Antonio, TX Hill Country upbringing, centered in her stunning vocal prowess.
Urbina Jones is touring in support of her upcoming new album, Manuel's Destiny that features her current single, an inspiring duet with Wendy Moten, (The Voice), "Rhinestone Cowgirl."
A triumphant update of Glen Campbell’s iconic “Rhinestone Cowboy” (with a blessing from songwriter Larry Weiss on the cover’s gender flip), the song is built on a near-symphonic arrangement of soaring violins, exultant trumpets, vihuela, and heavenly harp. “Rhinestone Cowgirl” emerges as a powerful account of overcoming the odds on the way to unfettered glory.

Urbina Jones’ musical dreams have been brewing since she was a little Latina girl, born into a bicultural home in San Antonio, listening to the sounds from both sides of the border, and raised in the honky tonks of Texas.
