Hi Neighbor!
Â
This week was my 25th wedding anniversary. A quarter of a century! 300 months. 9131.25 days. It’s been a bit.
What makes a marriage last? For me it’s all the little things. Trite, but it’s true.
Â
One little (not so little it turns out) thing my husband does is say “Thank you.” I have cooked countless meals for our family for 25 years and not a night will go by that I don't hear “thanks for making dinner.” It may seem small but to me it says… I don't take you for granted. I appreciate you. I value and respect you.
Â
Researchers at the University of Georgia interviewed close to 500 couples about their financial well-being, communication style and how often they express gratitude to each other. They found that expression of gratitude was the most consistent predictor of marital quality.
Â
I’m not surprised.
Â
There’s so much that goes into making a relationship work but maybe the key to a happy marriage starts simply with two little words.
Thank you.

Back to School Immune Support
Â
Here we are again at parents favorite time of year, back to school. Sending our kids back to real or virtual hallways presents all kinds of challenges and potential for growth throughout the year. One of the biggest challenges our kids will face will be to their immune system. Targeted nutritional ingredients to help bolster function will be our focus for this article.
Â
Vitamin C is not able to be manufactured by our bodies but possesses strong antioxidant activity against numerous viruses along with stimulating multiple cell lines within the immune system. Vitamin D, while not technically a vitamin, is a hormone that has shown strong immune modulating properties along with antiviral activity when levels are optimized. Vitamin A is fat-soluble vitamin like Vitamin D that provides respiratory defense and stimulates white blood cell production. Zinc is a trace mineral that works in synergy with Vitamin A to stimulate various immune cell lines and has antiviral activity. Quercetin is a flavonoid compound with strong antioxidant activity and aids in promoting cellular absorption of zinc. Elderberry has antioxidant, immune boosting and antiviral actions all contained within its flavonoid rich profile. Finally, probiotics, best thought of as multivitamins for our gut, improve immune function, enhance nutrient absorption, and elevate mood all in a simple once daily dosing.
