Good morning! The AI Research Symposium is scheduled for this Friday at the Watt Family Innovation Center. The Clemson University Research Foundation held its annual Innovation Awards event; Anna Fitch Courie provides an update on the Community Health and Well-Being Needs Assessment.

• The AI Research Symposium is scheduled for Friday, April 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Watt Family Innovation Center. Hosted by AIRISE, Watt AI, CU-CHAI and CCIT Research Computing and Data, the symposium is an opportunity for researchers from diverse disciplines to share their research and insights on artificial intelligence and its applications.

• The Clemson University Research Foundation recognized the dedicated researchers behind nine U.S. patents earned and five license agreements executed in 2025 at its annual Innovation Awards. Additionally, Clemson researchers disclosed 85 inventions in 2025 and started 12 new companies.

• Stevie Edwards, assistant professor of English, recently sat down to answer questions about her fourth book of poetry, "The Weather Inside." The book was a finalist for the 2026 Miller Williams Poetry Prize.

Chief Well-Being Officer Anna Fitch Courie provides updates on the Community Health and Well-Being Needs Assessment released last month, its overall approach and next steps as the process moves forward.
