Tech Tip of the Week

From Jen O'Brien
TIP: Quickly see two window tabs side-by-side (helpful if you only have one monitor or are on a laptop).
WHY: So. many. reasons. Referencing a website while composing an e-mail. Referencing an e-mail while making web updates or updating your calendar. Anytime it’s easier to see two things at once instead of clicking back and forth between windows.
HOW? There are two ways in Windows 7:
  1. Use the shortcut "Windows" key with the left or right arrow button
  2. Drag the title bar (not the tab itself) off the screen to the left or right.
With windows 8, the keyboard shortcut is Windows Key, Shift, Period (for left) and Windows Key, Period (for right).

Assessment Soundbites

Assessment Soundbites

Does your department or program have assessment data to share?
In an effort to better learn and communicate about the great initiatives within the Division of Student Affairs, the Assessment Communication & Capacity Building Subcommittee is seeking assessment soundbites from offices that have data they hope to share with the division.
If you attended the Assessment Conference in January, you may remember the short presentations that highlighted initiatives that have taken place or are ongoing. We called these presentations soundbites and we want to continue sharing this type of assessment-related information regularly.
We plan to incorporate assessment soundbites in future Scoop newsletters. The information shared in the Scoop soundbites will be similar to the short conference soundbite presentations and will include the overview of a project or program, the type of assessment used, results and lessons learned, next steps, and contact information for the lead person on the project. The first soundbite can be found below.
Should your office of program have information you would like to share, please submit the Assessment  Template to Liz Walsh by emailinwalshek@MiamiOH.edu.
Please contact Liz with any questions you may have.
